Amare Stoudemire scored 27 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, Shawn Marion added 26 points and 10 boards and Steve Nash added 17 points and 10 assists as the Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Lakers 119-110 to close out their Western Conference playoff series.
In a game they never trailed, the Suns had built a lead as large as 16 and were never threatened by the Lakers.
Phoenix carried a six point advantage into the fourth quarter and the Lakers cut it to five but then the Suns went on a 13-2 run for a 107-91 lead with 6:15 remaining in the game.
L.A. mounted a comeback and staged their own 13-2 run to get within five with three minutes left on the clock but Phoenix answered the bell and when they needed to step up they did and hit six free-throws over the final two minutes to sea the win.
Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 34 points while Lamar Odom finished with 33 points and 10 rebounds.
The Suns will now face the San Antonio Spurs in round two of the Western Conference playoffs.
