Cayman Islands Rocked by 5.8 Earthquake

The Cayman Islands, which are located just south of Cuba, were rocked by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake around 9:20 Tuesday morning. According to reports, the temblor was located 6 miles below the surface and 40 miles from George Town.

Minor damages, including telephone lines being down, have been reported. No injuries or deaths have been reported.

The quake comes 1 week after Haiti was hit by a devastating 7.0 earthquake that killed thousands and left most of the country in ruins.
