More Clues on Google Attacks Revealed

Financial World News Update by Equities Magazine

Tuesday morning a computer security researcher discovered what understands to be conclusive evidence pointing authorities toward the Chinese authors of the software programs utilized in the hackings against Google.

While no formal declarations were made, many have jumped to accuse the Chinese government of committing the Internet break in. Suspicions arose when it was revealed that the attacks focused on a group of Chinese human rights activists who had spoken negatively about the government.

A number of private computer security companies based in the US have been working toward legitimizing those claims but until now there have been no new developments.

That changed today when malware specialist, Joe Stewart of the SecureWorks organization was able to determine the chief program used in the attack contained a module centered on an abnormal algorithm from a Chinese technical paper. The paper is only accessible on Chinese websites from a Chinese search engine.

The results have led experts to believe more concretely that it was the Chinese that planned and executed last week’s attacks.
