Graco Children’s Products has issued a voluntary recall
on three stroller models due to dangerous hinges on the stroller’s canopies. The
recalled models are Graco’s Passage, Alano and Spree Strollers and Travel
Systems with a plastic hinge mechanism that has notches for different canopy
positions. The recall was issued after at least 5 children had fingers
amputated by the hinges.
The recalled strollers were manufactured between October
2004 and February 2008 and sold at AAFES, Burlington Coat Factory, Babies R Us,
Toys R Us, Kmart, Fred Meyer, Meijers, Navy Exchange, Sears, Target and Walmart
from October 2004 to December 2009. The model number and manufacture date is
located on the inside portion of the rear frame just below the wheels.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the
strollers and contact Graco for a free protective cover kit.
