Polyglot Systems Inc offers a better understanding of the medication you take with their new product, Meducation. Meducation is a time-saving and innovative online tool that cuts out the medical jargon and allows patients and their families to better understand what they are putting into their bodies. Meducation offers personalized medication instructions in the patient’s preferred language. Polyglot’s Meducation product was developed to reduce the risk of medical errors.
The healthcare product Meducation simplifies patient-specific medication instructions such as drug dose and time of day, to a 5th to 8th grade reading level. Meducation is also presented in intuitive formats to make sure that everything is simple and easy to understand. One example is pictograms of the time of day rather than words tell patients when to take the medication as well as pictograms of medication techniques convey information unambiguously.
All content is available in 18 languages and can be delivered to patients either electronically or printed. This allows the optimum convenience for the patient and does not interrupt clinical workflow. All content is then accessible to patients from their home via the patient portal.
Polyglot Systems, Inc. offers four Meducation products the first being standard Meducation. Next they offer MeducationRS, MeducationDC, and Meducation API each with their own unique features that fit the patient’s needs. MeducationRS, for example, creates simple and effective medication regimen summaries that are based on health literacy research to improve medication adherence. MeducationDC is designed to utilize a library of discharge templates that can be quickly personalized for every patient. It helps to address both low health literacy and language barriers and includes instructions edited to be simple to understand. It currently supports 14 different languages. Finally, with Meducation API, medication content is available via a simple REST-based web service API. The API is designed to allow access to Medication content using existing prescription medication data and association standard coding schemes.
