There’s also the potential for the skin to absorb cooking oils and fried food greases emitted into the air, which can then cause acne. And keep face clear by cleansing after work and applying acne spot treatments.

Standing for long periods puts pressure on leg blood vessels and veins, which affects blood flow and can form unattractive varicose or spider veins. If possible, take breaks at work to elevate legs, and after work kick back and relax. Compression stockings can also help prevent these unsightly veins. To minimize existing veins, try a topical treatment; or seek professional procedures to effectively eliminate them.
- Jobs with long hours and high stress levels. Staying late at the office or lugging work home may bring professional rewards, but too often a person’s skin suffers the consequences. Being stressed and sleep-deprived can aggravate both acne and rosacea, as well as make skin look dull and lackluster. Skipping sleep can also mean dark under-eye circles and bags. Find ways to de-stress, such as unwinding with a soothing bath or shower after a hard day’s work. Get to bed earlier to ensure enough sleep, and treat puffiness and dark circles with an eye treatment. In the event that an all-nighter is necessary, use an allergy-tested concealer to cover up the evidence around the eyes.
