Now What Dem Duke Boys Gonna Do Next? General Lee Sells for Nearly $10 Million
John Schneider, the actor who played the role of Bo Duke on the television show “The Dukes of Hazzard,” sold the shows most prize piece of memorabilia, a 1969 Dodge Charger, for $9,900,500 on Friday.
Schneider put the General Lee on the auction block with expectations of seeing bids reach $3 million but what he got was a lot more. The nearly $10 million winning bid set an eBay record, surpassing a $4.9 million tag for a private jet purchased a few years ago.
While never actually used in the original television series, the orange Charger with a Confederate flag detailed atop the roof was signed by all living members of the show. Schneider featured the car in “Dukes Go To Hollywood” and raced it in The Silver State Classic Challenge in Nevada.
