Coming off his split decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Saturday, welterweight boxer Oscar De La Hoya may be set to take on a much bigger ring, the dancing ring. De La Hoya has already expressed an interest in joining the ABC hit show “Dancing with the Stars” after he retires from boxing and now that the 34-year-old no longer has his WBC title he may just hang up his gloves.
While rumors have already circulated that there could be a Mayweather/De La Hoya II it could take some time before those details are worked out.
After watching clips of fellow boxers Evander Holyfield and this year’s favorite Laila Ali, De La Hoya said “I’m getting ready for Dancing with the Stars. Once I retire from boxing I’ll do it.”
