ABC is giving fans of the hit thriller “Lost” plenty of time to brace for life without the head scrambler. Executives at the network announced that the show that began in September 2004 will conclude in May 2010.
The plan for “Lost” includes an eight month hiatus after this season’s finale on May 23. The show will pick up in February and include 16-episodes; each episode will air consecutively with no reruns interrupting the sequence.
It will be the same formula used in 2009 and 2010.
“Lost” producers are banking on fans being willing to wait if they know that they will not be subjected to reruns. They also felt the decision to announce the show’s end date would allow viewer’s to clearly understand “what their investment would be” according to co-producer Carlton Cuse.
