Capital One (NYSE: COF) Posts $376M Profit in 4Q

Capital One (NYSE: COF) announced Thursday that the credit card company posted a fourth-quarter profit of $375.6 million, citing a rise in income from fees and interest, according to Associated Press.

 

The company, one of the nation's largest credit card issuers, earned 83 cents per share compared with a loss of $1.45 billion, or $3.74 cents per share, in the same period a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters were expecting profit of 45 cents per share.

 

The Credit Card segment reported net income in the fourth quarter of $509.9 million. Revenues in the segment reached $2.9 billion, while the Commercial Banking segment suffered a net loss of $136 million and the Consumer Banking segment earned a $7.7 million net loss.
