American Idol Judge Simon Cowell Organizes Artists for Charity Single to Benefit Victims of Haiti Earthquake

American Idol judge Simon Cowell has used his influence in the music industry to organize several of the world’s top artists for a charity single that will benefit the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

Cowell has reportedly already received confirmation from Rod Stewart, Leona Lewis, JLS and Michael Buble and has contacted Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Coldplay and Take That. The artists will cover the REM hit single “Everybody Hurts.”

Joining Cowell in organizing the single is the British newspaper The Sun and the proceeds of the song will be split evenly between the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) and the paper’s Helping Haiti effort.
