Dawna Lee Heising interviewed award-winning musician Kris Searle on the latest segment of Eye on Entertainment on Time Warner Cable. Searle is a BBC-featured artist in the United Kingdom and has a successful career on both sides of the Atlantic. Searle won AAA Single of the Year for "I Would Give You It All" at the 2009 Los Angeles Music Awards, founded by Al Bowman and held at the Avalon Theater, Hollywood. He also was named “Best International Artist” at the 2008 Los Angeles Music Awards and was nominated for “Best International Artist” for the second year in a row at the 2009 Los Angeles Music Awards.
Searle was born in Herne Bay, United Kingdom, and was the youngest soprano with the Kent South Singers at the age of 11. His father Tony was his mentor and bought him his first guitar. While his mother Dawn and sister Katie appeared on the red carpet with Searle at the 2008 Los Angeles Music Awards, Searle was saddened that his father Tony was not there to share in his huge triumph. Tony passed away November 2006. Searle was the runner-up in Invicta FM’s Pepsi Chart Search for a Star competition and invested his savings into his career and a record company in the UK.
Searle’s career took a drastic change due to a music investment in the United Kingdom, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise when Searle and his record producer Dino Maddalone were triumphant at the 2008 Los Angeles Music Awards. Searle launched his own independent record label in 2008, Inspire U Records, and will release an independent compilation album this year called “Inspired Artist 2010”.
Searle was nominated for Best Male Artist in the Rock Wired radio show and magazine readers’ poll and is a songwriter winner on VH1. He released “Honestly Remix” with United Kingdom rapper AYO, collaborated on a dance track with United Kingdom Big Brother celebrity Darnell and is writing the music for an animation feature trilogy titled Whale Magic. He recently appeared at a benefit concert hosted by Arnold G at Rage in West Hollywood in association with the Philippine's Aid Society for the Typhoon Victims. Searle also recently toured in Thailand.
His new single "I Would Give You It All" is being placed on a feature film called "Truth About Kerry" and is also being included on the soundtrack and official video. So far in 2010, Searle already has three songs placed in movies, his own club night starting mid year and is going to be co-hosting and performing at a pre-Grammy party.
