Caroline Wozniacki continued her impressive run at the year’s first Grand Slam event, taking care of Shahar Peer in straight sets 6-4, 6-0 to advance to the fourth round at the Australian Open in Melbourne.
Wozniacki took advantage of just about every opportunity presented as she was a perfect five for five on break point chances and used the 30 unforced errors from Peer to control the match. While Wozniacki struggled a bit with her serve she managed to gain points on 50% of her second serve.
Wozniacki is coming off finals appearance at last year’s U.S. Open where she fell to Kim Clijsters and before that she reached the fourth round at Wimbledon before falling to Sabine Lisicki. The Dane has also reached the fourth round of the Australian Open while her best finish at the French Open was a third round appearance in 2008 and 2009.
