NBA Scores: Fourth Quarter Burst Gives Cavaliers 2-0 Lead on Nets

LeBron James scored 36 points and handed out 12 assists, Drew Gooden added 10 points and 14 rebounds and Zydrunas Ilgauskas finished with 13 points and 9 boards as the Cleveland Cavaliers used a 9-0 run late in the fourth quarter to drop the New Jersey Nets 102-92 and take a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference playoff series.

Jason Kidd put the Nets in front 81-78 three minutes into the fourth quarter but the Cavaliers answered with back-to-back three pointers from LeBron and Larry Hughes to grab a three point advantage. Sasha Pavlovic then hit one of two from the line and the Cavs lead was four with 7:22 remaining.

Vince Carter kept it a four point game after burying a 17-footer with 2:40 on the clock but then the Cavaliers went on a 9-0 run capped by a LeBron jumper with 14 seconds left to put the Nets in a two game hole.

James scored 12 of his game-high 36 in the deciding fourth quarter.

Cleveland out-rebounded New Jersey 49-32 and the Cavs forced 16 turnovers.

The series will shift to New Jersey when both teams meet on Saturday for game three of their best of seven series.
