‘Dancing with the Stars’ doesn’t have Billy Ray Cyrus to kick around anymore. After totaling 38 points on his two dances last night and hearing that his foxtrot was “crap” Cyrus got the boot from the popular ABC reality show.
By the time Cyrus finished his second dance, a mambo, the judges wouldn’t even address the many flaws but instead just said his movements were reminiscent of a wild beast.
Much to Billy Ray’s credit he himself in a gracious manner and consistently put fun first in the competition. Already sensing that his number was to be called Cyrus stated, “I got to meet my hero, Muhammad Ali, last night. I conquered my fear. I'm happy to be here and I'm ready to go on Jimmy Kimmel.”
It was Billy Ray’s ability to never take himself too seriously that endeared him to many of the viewers. Even the judges seemed entertained by the presence of Cyrus but in the end it was clear he no longer belonged on the same dancing floor as Laila Ali, Apolo Anton Ohno, Joey Fatone and Ian Ziering.
The show will be back on Monday night when the top four take the stage.
