Carlos Boozer scored 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, Mehmet Okur added 23 points and 18 boards and Deron Williams added 17 points and 14 assists as the Utah Jazz held on once again to beat the Golden State Warriors 127-117 in overtime.
Deron Williams forced overtime after hitting a 12-foot runner with two seconds left to knot the game at 113-113. In the extra frame Derek Fisher sealed the game with a three-pointer with 1:06 on the clock to give Utah a 123-117 lead. Boozer and Fisher each hit a pair of free throws down the stretch to provide the ten point cushion.
For the second straight game Utah dominated the glass with a 60-32 advantage on the boards. The extra boards made up for Utah’s difficulty holding on to the ball. Utah turned it over 23 times in the game resulting in 29 points for the Warriors.
Utah did shoot well from the floor, hitting 52 percent from the floor and sank 84 percent from the free-throw line.
Baron Davis led the Warriors with 36 points in the game while Jason Richardson added 27 points. Golden State once again opted for the perimeter game as they attempted 40 three-pointers throughout the game and hit 15 from that distance.
The series will now shift to Oakland where the two teams will meet on Friday for game three of their best of seven series.
