Australian Open 2010 Round 4 Results: Roger Federer Cruises Past Lleyton Hewitt to Reach Quarterfinals

Roger Federer may have looked shaky when the Australian Open kicked off a week ago but he has since found his rhythm as he enjoyed another easy win, taking apart Lleyton Hewitt in straight sets 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 to move into the quarterfinals in Melbourne.

Federer scored points on 76% of his first serves put in play and while he committed 27 unforced errors he also totaled 49 winners compared to just 18 for Hewitt. Federer broke the Australian five times in the match and had his own serve broken just once.

Federer has won the Australian Open three times, most recently in 2007. The Swiss star also owns a career Grand Slam having won his first French Open title last year to go along with his five U.S. Open titles and six Wimbledon titles. Federer’s 15 Grand Slam singles titles are most of any male player.
