Paraguayan Soccer Star Salvador Cabanas in Critical Condition after Being Shot in the Head

Paraguayan soccer star Salvador Cabanas is said to be in critical condition in a Mexico City hospital after being shot in the head while in a bar. Police have arrested two suspects in the shooting but a motive has not been released.

According to Cabanas’ wife who was at the bar at the time of the shooting was unprovoked.

Cabanas plays for the Mexican club America and has scored 18 goals in 24 matches, making him one of the most prolific scorers in the Primera División de México.

The 29-year-old Cabanas is a former Paraguayan Footballer of the Year and was considered a key piece in Paraguay’s World Cup side that will play in South Africa later this year.
