Green Technology Training Now Available Online

Collaboratively produced Purdue University – Oxygen Education online green technology training available to public

The Purdue Research Foundation and Oxygen Education, LLC, a market leading developer of online content for technical education and workforce development, today announced a licensing agreement that makes the Green Generalist Training developed as part of a collaboration between the Purdue Technical Assistance Program (TAP) and Oxygen Education available to the public. Educational institutions, business, industry, and workforce development initiatives that license the training can easily provide learners, employees, and workers green training online.

"Making Green Generalist Training available online to the public will provide the opportunity to learn about green technology, global sustainability and the associated cost-cutting practices," said Joseph B. Hornett, senior vice president, treasurer and COO of the Purdue Research Foundation. "Interest in environmentally friendly methods is booming, and people trained to understand how to address sustainability issues will be able to market themselves better to prospective employers."

The Green Generalist Training examines the key environmental issues facing manufacturers and identifies ways to redesign business practices using environmentally friendly techniques. A case study simulation included in the  training provides learners experience analyzing business processes and adopting sustainable practices.

“Oxygen Education is very pleased the efforts of our sustainability collaboration with Purdue are now publicly available,” said Mike Fitzgerald, president, Oxygen Education. “Providing high quality online training allows educational institutions to extend programming without incurring the time and expense required to build a curriculum locally. Industry and workforce development initiatives also save time and money when they offer skills development training in a 24 / 7 accessible online environment."

Purdue’s TAP chose Oxygen Education to develop the online training based on the company’s proven ability to develop high quality, engaging online learning content. In addition to the Green Generalist Training, Oxygen Education offers a library of more 100 ready-to-implement content modules for technical education and workforce development.
