Steve Nash Unanimous Selection for All-NBA Team

Steve Nash was named a first team All-NBA team selection on all 129 ballots to lead a cast of Western Conference stars to a clean sweep of the honor.

Nash was joined by his Phoenix Suns teammate Amare Stoudemire as well as former Dallas Mavericks teammate Dirk Nowitzki. Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan rounded out the top five.

The reigning two-time NBA MVP, Nash averaged 18.6 points and 11.6 assists per game in the regular season and is currently heading the Suns charge in the Western Conference playoffs. Nash’s teammate, Amare Stoudemire earned his selection after averaging 20.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per contest.

Nash and Stoudemire are presently facing the San Antonio Spurs and their star forward Tim Duncan in the playoffs. Duncan earned first-team honors after posting 20 points and 10.6 boards per game.

While Dirk Nowitzki slowed down in the playoffs, his 24.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game were good enough to place him on the list as well.

Kobe Bryant rounded out the squad after averaging 31.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.

The Eastern Conference was shutout of the first-team but managed to place three stars on the second-team. LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers), Gilbert Arenas (Washington Wizards) and Chris Bosh (Toronto Raptors) represented the East while Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming, both of the Houston Rockets, grabbed the other two spots.
