Alpheus has completed numerous fiber sales transactions within the past twelve months. The transactions were with enterprise and carrier customers statewide. Dark fiber has become a precious commodity as the demand for bandwidth continues to rise, resulting in an increase in need for 3G and 4G cellular networks.
Alpheus Communications provides long-haul telecommunications transport services in metro markets across Texas. The company operates a broadband backbone network that stretches from Wichita Falls to the Rio Grande Valley. It offers gigabit Ethernet, metro transport, managed wavelength, and colocation services. Alpheus also provides point-to-point private line services. The company targets telecom carriers and enterprise customers in the banking, energy, health care, IT, and legal sectors. Alpheus is a joint venture between El Paso Corporation and private equity firm Genesis Park.
