NBA Scores: Spurs Take 2-1 Series Lead After Dropping Suns in Game Three

Tim Duncan scored 33 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, Manu Ginobili added 24 points and Tony Parker finished with 16 points as the San Antonio Spurs knocked off the Phoenix Suns 108-101 to take game three of their Western Conference playoff series and grab a 2-1 lead in their match-up.

James Jones brought the Suns to within one after hitting a pair of free-throws with just under two minutes remaining in the third quarter but Manu Ginobili outscore Phoenix 8-1 to close the period and San Antonio carried an 80-72 lead into the fourth.

Tim Duncan gave the Spurs a 14 point lead five minutes into the final period and but Amare Stoudemire brought the Suns to within six with 3:21 and it looked as if the game would go down to the wire. The Spurs responded with a 5-0 spurt and when the Suns trimmed it to six on a Shawn Marion three-pointer Michael Finley countered with a triple of his own with 1:24 remaining to seal the game.

Shawn Marion led the Suns with 26 points in the loss.

Both teams will play again in San Antonio on Monday in game four of their best of seven series.
