The EPT Deauville 2010 begun this Wednesday with the usual pomp and granger. As we know that this has become perhaps the most sought after tournament of poker for the French as well as European players since it started last year, French players are all geared to show their charisma.
Last year the European Poker Tour Deauville showcased some great French poker talents though the winner was not from France and a little known German poker champ Moritz `catenaccio' Kranich stole the show. This young twenty-eight-year-old who is from Hamburg came out as the winner after qualifying for the event on January 24, 2009 on PokerStars. He managed to grab a whopping first prize of $1,128,983.
However, many young French poker players like Tristan Clémençon showed their excellence during 2009 that created great respect for the players from France. Young Clémençon, who is just 19 showed his great talents by managing the third place in the 2009 European Poker Tour Deauville.
Therefore, this year everyone expects a great return of Clémençon and many fans are eagerly waiting for a great showdown. ButThis year the French contingent is quite strong and everyone dreams to grab the top slot with élan. Bertrand `Elky' Grospellier, for example, is a front runner for the top position and is a favorite of many and his zeal for winning the tournament may present him the chance to take the name of his country in the world map of poker.
Like Elky there are many such French poker players who are extremely talented and can give others a tough fight. For example, if you consider players like Ludovic Lacay, Antoine Saout, or Antony Lellouche who have already proved their worth can come up as dark horse and finally the triumphant winner. As the time run by we wait eagerly to see the top player and pray that the best should win!
