Affiliate Program Revenues Must Be Tithed According To ChristiaNet Poll

Affiliate programs such as business opportunities, dating services, referral marketing and profitable home business are some of the affiliate program related articles at http://www.christianet.com/affiliateprogram/.

ChristiaNet.com (http://www.christianet.com), the world's largest Christian portal with twelve million monthly page loads, asked readers in a new survey, "Should Christians make money with affiliate programs?" Many Believers agree that a profitable home business that is legitimate is ok as long as God is honored by paying tithes on proceeds. Many participants did not understand what an affiliate program is so ChristiaNet's President, Bill Cooper explains, "It is possible to sell other companies products online by signing up with their affiliate programs, either through them advertising on one's website or by helping them to recruit resellers." Many businesses that offer these marketing strategies pay commissions to those who are enlisted in their program.  (http://www.christianet.com/affiliateprogram/)

Out of 290 participants, 106 responded "yes" to the survey question. According to respondents in this group, the criteria for making money through affiliate partnerships is to make sure the company operates by ethical and Biblical principles and that a person believes in the products that are sold. One participant said, "The nature of the program or service should be carefully considered and not used to take advantage of others." Many businesses that offer these programs advertise that it is a good way for a person to obtain a profitable home business. Several agree that the most important thing is putting God first and tithing from the revenues received.

Twenty-eight people answered "no" to Christians making money with affiliate programs. Several participants feel that Believers should only consider doing business with other Christian companies and that some of the advertisements to obtain a profitable home business through these types of programs are scams. Some of the companies who offer marketing programs such as affiliates allow others to partner with them for free. This minimizes the risk to anyone who is afraid that they could be taken advantage of.

One-hundred, fifty-six participants were unsure about the survey question. The majority of respondents in this group didn't seem to understand the terminology of the question or didn't have enough information to comment. Those that did comment overall feel that it depends on the specific program, what they offer to the partner, and if it is operated with honesty and integrity. One reader said, "Be selective and careful."  For more information, visit: http://www.christianet.com/articles/
