The Swiss government said yesterday that it was ready to solve the legal impasse currently facing the handling of data in the U.S.-UBS AG case.
After last week’s court ruling, the Swiss Justice Ministry implied that roughly 4,200 clients’ data could not be released to U.S. tax authorities, leaving only 250 sets of data that could be handed over.
The Swiss government Wednesday said it plans to ask U.S. authorities to disclose details on clients who revealed that they held secret bank accounts with UBS under a voluntary disclosure program.
