ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO. (June 19, 2014). Peoples Flower Shops, an Albuquerque, New Mexico based, family-owned and operated florist, announced that they have appointed Joshua Glass as their new Vice President, joining the company in April of this year.
In commenting on the appointment, Wayne Pollack of Peoples Flower Shops said, “We are excited to have an industry veteran join our team and help us develop more strategies to grow our business. His knowledge and experience will provide a way for us to explore new opportunities, including expanding our product lines and targeting specific customer segments.”
Prior to joining Peoples Flower Shops, Glass was Vice President of Trochta’s Flowers and Garden Center in Oklahoma, one of the area’s oldest and largest florists. His responsibilities included overseeing sales and customer service while supporting the entire organization with Human Resources and Information Technology support. He was also responsible for the development of the Trochta’s brand and insertion of the brand into existing and new markets by leveraging all types of technology. His work with SEO was recently highlighted at the national Teleflora RTI conference in Las Vegas, Nevada by Matt Drzewicki, Head of Industry for Google.
Glass has a B.A. in communication from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. He has also been involved in community work, serving as an active volunteer with the Zachary Taylor Neighborhood Association and an extensive project to restore Oklahoma State University’s Doal Reed Center for the Arts. He is actively involved in the Society of American Florists (SAF) and was an Outstanding Varieties judge during their convention last year. This August, he will receive the prestigious honor of membership in the respected American Academy of Floriculture (AAF) at the SAF’s 130th Annual Convention in Marco Island, Florida.
