“Emotionally Distraught” Paris Hilton Can’t Testify in Civil Lawsuit Against Her

According to a doctor that has been seeing Paris Hilton for the last eight months the 26-year-old celebutante is too “emotionally distraught and traumatized” to appear and testify at an ongoing civil case against her.

Apparently a 45-day jail sentence and “her fear of incarceration” as a result of violating her probation has placed Hilton in such a fragile state that she is incapable of providing “any significant input into her defense.”

At least that is what Dr. Charles Sophy has claimed in court papers filed Monday.

Hilton was named in a civil lawsuit filed by Zeta Graff, an actress and diamond heiress, who has claimed that Paris spread “vicious lies” about her. Graff is suing “The Simple Life” star for $10 million for claiming that she had tried to grab a necklace that Hilton had been wearing.

Sophy’s opinion seemed to work as Superior Court Judge Linda K. Lefkowitz postponed the trial that had been set to begin this month. It will now begin sometime in August.

Hilton is currently scheduled to report for jail on June 5 to begin her 45-day sentence for violating her probation stemming from a reckless driving case that involved alcohol.
