The hip check that Robert Horry placed on Steve Nash with 18 seconds remaining in game four may just be the play that helps the San Antonio Spurs deliver the knockout punch to the Phoenix Suns.
After reviewing the play, the NBA opted to suspend Horry for two games while the Phoenix Suns will be forced to play game five without Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw who wee suspended for one game each for leaving the bench after the flagrant foul.
While Horry has played an important offensive role off the bench for the Spurs both Stoudemire and Diaw are major players in the Suns offensive and defensive attack. Stoudemire led the Suns in scoring and rebounds while Diaw has been averaging 24.4 minutes, 7.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists in the playoffs.
The series is currently tied at 2-2 with game five set for Wednesday night in Phoenix.
