Andrei Kirilenko scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, Carlos Boozer added 21 points and 14 boards and Derek Fisher finished with 20 points as the Utah Jazz beat the Golden State Warriors 100-87 to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
Golden State held a two point lead heading into the third quarter and quickly bumped their advantage to seven with a 7-2 spurt to start the period. Andrei Kirilenko then answered for the Jazz with seven straight points to tie the score at 61-61. By the end of the third Utah had managed to grab a four point lead and were looking to close the door in the fourth.
Baron Davis pulled the Warriors even with a jumper at the 6:23 mark of the fourth but Kirilenko put the Jazz back in front with a tip-in and Derek Fisher then sank a three-pointer to boost the lead to five. Jason Richardson drew Golden State to within one with 3:39 left on the clock but the Warriors wouldn’t hit another bucket the rest of the way as Utah added ten free-throws and a layup from Carlos Boozer to finish out the game.
Utah once again dominated the glass with a 59-35 advantage and they shot 44 percent from the floor compared to the Warriors’ 36 percent.
The Jazz will now face the winner of the Phoenix Suns-San Antonio Spurs match-up in the Western Conference Finals.
