Carrie Underwood, winner of the fourth season of ‘American Idol,’ took the time to thank the show while collecting Album of the Year and Top Female Vocalist of the Year at the 42nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards last night.
The 24-year-old Underwood, who has been making a habit of winning awards, told the audience ‘I would not be here if it were not for 'American Idol,’ after collecting the female vocalist of the year award.
Underwood, who won Top New Female Vocalist of the Year and Single Record of the Year at the 2006 ACM awards, picked up Album of the Year for “Some Hearts” and shared in the honor of Video of the Year for "Before He Cheats" as well.
It has been a huge year for Underwood as she won two Grammy Awards, a pair of People’s Choice Awards and another two at the CMT Music Awards.
In 2005 Carrie Underwood beat out Bo Bice to win the fourth season of ‘American Idol.’
