NBA News: Houston Rockets Fire Head Coach Jeff Van Gundy
Losing in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs for the third time in the last four years was too much for Jeff Van Gundy to keep his head coaching job for the Houston Rockets. On Friday it was announced the club had fired their coach of four seasons despite an impressive 52-30 year.
With NBA All-Stars Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming fans had expected a lot out of the Rockets and their failure to deliver signaled the end for Van Gundy. In his tenure as head coach he led Houston to a 182-146 record.
Reports have already claimed that the Rockets are in talks with Rick Adelman, former head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings.
