Donald Trump Tells NBC He Quits After Network Drops “The Apprentice”

After NBC left “The Apprentice” off its announced fall lineup of shows Donald Trump took the opportunity to tell the network that he quit.

Trump issued a statement telling NBC that he had plans of “moving on from ‘The Apprentice’ to a major new TV venture.” The 60-year-old real estate mogul wouldn’t elaborate about his plans but the likelihood of him coming back in a reality series is slim.

In a statement issued by Trump’s organization it was announced “It looks like viewers will have to wait to see what Mr. Trump plans for the future, but if Mr. Trump's past TV success is any indication of the future, then one can anticipate that millions of 'Apprentice' fans will be migrating to his new venture."

While “The Apprentice” grabbed huge audience numbers when it debuted its first season in 2004 the ratings steadily declined and by the end of its sixth season viewers had grown tired of the show.
