When contacted in New York Thursday, Tim Cox, founder of "Get Out of Our House," reacted to the President's State of the Union address and the new focus on "jobs, jobs, jobs." "Congress just doesn't get it," Cox said. "The problem is government and politicians' interference." When did it become the role of government to create jobs? Wouldn't most Americans prefer if the Congress would just get out of the way?
Congress has imposed so many rules and regulations on business that companies large and small are suffocating. GOOOH's solution is to replace all 435 members of Congress with citizen candidates, who understand the proper role of government.
Congress has created a tax code over 78,000 pages long. It shifts taxes from favored industries to those without lobbyists in their corner. It takes millions of man-hours and billions of dollars to comply with these complex rules, and businesses face fines and penalties when errors are made. Is this the America our Founding Fathers envisioned? Is this the House of Representatives they intended, full of citizen legislators, who serve for a brief time, then return home to their businesses and farms? Actually, it isn't. The Congress is filled with professional politicians, too focused on the next election cycle to concentrate on the business of The People.
Get Out Of Our House, or GOOOH (pronounced GO), is a method for selection of citizen candidates for the House of Representatives. GOOOH is non-partisan. Liberal districts can pick an outstanding liberal candidate. Conservative districts can pick a capable conservative. Every GOOOH candidate completes a comprehensive 100-question issue survey, detailing his positions, and pledges to leave the Congress after two terms in office. A cutting edge media campaign extolling all GOOOH candidates will be funded by contributions from GOOOH members.
Cox continues to travel across the country explaining the GOOOH system. See the schedule of GOOOH events here.
