Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) climbs 0.75% to $3.35 on 56.33 million shares after Dow Jones reported that Citigroup Inc. intends to sell or split off its $10 billion Citi Private Equity unit. The unit, managed by Todd Benson and Darren Friedman, oversees about $2 billion of Citigroup's money. Benson and Friedman have considered buying the unit for themselves together with new partners or with other financing.

Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC) surges 0.20% to $15.21 on 17.37 million shares. The stock hit an intraday high and an intraday low of $15.55 and $15.09 respectively. In the last six months the stock went up over 2%. Bank of America Corporation is a bank holding company and a financial holding company.
