Global High Income Fund adopted a managed distribution policy in December 1999. The policy currently in effect ensures that the Fund makes regular monthly distributions at an annualized rate of 8% of the Fund’s net asset value. The Fund’s net asset value is determined as of the last day it is traded on the New York Stock Exchange during the first week of the month.
Global High Income Fund Inc. (the Fund) is a closed-end, non-diversified management investment company. The Fund’s primary investment objective is to achieve a high-level of current income. As a secondary objective the Fund seeks capital appreciation, to the extent consistent with its primary objective. The Fund’s investment advisor and administrator is UBS Global Asset Management (Americas) Inc. (UBS Global AM). As of September 30, 2009, UBS Global AM had approximately $146 billion in assets under management. UBS Global AM is an indirect wholly owned asset management subsidiary of UBS AG and a member of the UBS Global Asset Management division, which had approximately $562 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2009.
