NEW PARENTING MANUAL IS WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD

Parenting Expert Awarded Gold Medal for new book,

Just because you have children doesn’t make you an instant parenting expert.  Reality is that these wonderful little human beings don’t get delivered with a user’s manual, and troubleshooting isn’t as easy as calling the local repairman.  Individual and family therapist Joanne Baum, PhD, author/publisher of the new book Got the Baby Where’s the Manual?!?, knows from working with families for more than 30 years that good parenting skills are partly the result of a good upbringing and the rest is primarily self taught through the parent’s own conscious efforts.

Dr. Baum’s has been awarded a gold IPPY medal for her fourth book, Got the Baby Where’s the Manual?!? by Independent Publisher Magazine in the parenting category.  The book was in the running for IPPY recognition with more than 2700 entries in 65 categories from around the world. Got the Baby is Dr. Baum’s first experience as an independent publisher.

The IPPY Awards were created and are hosted by Independent Publisher, a magazine that targets the independent authors and publishers market.  Over the last 24 years, the magazine has worked to recognize and encourage the work of publishers who exhibit the courage and creativity necessary to take chances, break new ground, and bring about change, not only to the world of publishing, but to our society.

Dr. Baum’s Book also won a parenting award through a 2007 national publishing competition sponsored by the Colorado Independent Publishers  Association (CIPA).
