Oprah Winfrey “An Unruly Child” According to Father’s Tell-All
It has never been a big secret that Oprah Winfrey had a tumultuous time growing up and that several events in her childhood were difficult to overcome but she has obviously risen above those obstacles and even used them to strengthen who she is as a person and build a media empire.
Now her father, Vernon Winfrey, is prepared to rehash some of those early days in a tell-all book that presents Oprah as an “out of hand and an unruly child.”
For her part, Oprah initially found the idea of her father penning a book amusing but that turned to shock and disappointment when she found out that he had been gathering material for some time.
Oprah had moved in with her father when she was 14-years-old after becoming pregnant and has long said that her father taught her discipline and the importance of structure in her life. The 53-year-old media queen now wished her father had shown some self-discipline when it came time to write the book.
Oprah has said she is more upset that her father failed to mention his plans for the aptly titled “Things Unspoken” than she is the actual idea of the book.
