Are Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell on the same side? It seems impossible yet Trump has offered his opinion on the recent verbal blowout on “The View” and went a step further than Rosie when he called Elisabeth Hasselbeck “one of the dumber people in television.”
Of course Trump and O’Donnell probably won’t be making appearances together or singing any duets but the Trump’s comments certainly showed support for Rosie’s controversial stance.
It all began two days ago when Rosie and Elisabeth were involved in a heated exchange about the U.S. war in Iraq and previous comments made by O’Donnell that some people felt called American troops “terrorists,” Rosie asked Elisabeth if that was what she thought her comments meant Hasselbeck remained silent. For her silence Rosie called her “cowardly” and the showdown began.
Hasselbeck retorted that asking a rhetorical question was cowardly and then threw her support behind the U.S. forces fighting overseas. Elisabeth then made a comment that it was easy for Rosie to fight with Trump because he was “obnoxious.”
Like a moth to a flame Trump heard his name and had to jump in to the fracas. Donald told the television show Extra, “Well I am obnoxious, so on that she's right I must say but, y'know, Elisabeth is not a very smart person, she's one of the dumber people in television. To see that she supports the war, and she's solidly behind the war, give me a break. This one, I think, Rosie should win, but Rosie's not much herself… I think anybody who's against the war in Iraq is the winner in this fight because, to justify the war in Iraq, only an imbecile could do that.”
While Hasselbeck has already said that she remains friends with Rosie it will be interesting to see if the two partner up to blast Trump for his comments.
