The eight-year-old daughter of Steve Irwin, Bindi Irwin, launched her new show “Bindi: The Jungle Girl” and expressed her desire to continue the work of her late father saying “I'm proud to be showing kids that conservation and helping wildlife is a stack of fun.”
Steve Irwin, remembered by most simply as the Crocodile Hunter, was killed September 4, 2006 when a stingray’s barb pierced his chest while he was filming a documentary titled “Ocean’s Deadliest.”
Terri Irwin, the widow of Steve, said that Bindi has been prepared for taking over the legacy that her father left behind and commented that the Crocodile Hunter himself would be proud of his daughter’s new show.
The first seven episodes of “Bindi: The Jungle Girl” will feature footage shot with Steve Irwin.
“Bindi: The Jungle Girl” will premier on Discovery Kids Channel on June 9.
