Ty Pennington Pleads No Contest to Drunken Driving Case

In a statement released by his publicist, Stan Rosenfield, host of “Extreme makeover: Home Edition” Ty Pennington stated “"Drinking and driving is never acceptable. I have pleaded no contest and will abide by the court's ruling.”

Pennington was arrested earlier this month and charged with two misdemeanor counts related to driving under the influence of alcohol.

Having pled no contest to the count of driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit Pennington had his second charge, driving under the influence of alcohol, dismissed. Pennington reportedly had a blood-alcohol level that was nearly twice the California legal limit of .08 percent.

As part of the plea Pennington was placed on three year’s probation, ordered to pay $390 in fines and will have to participate in an alcohol program for three months as well as attend a Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) meeting.
