‘American Idol’ Champ Jordin Sparks “Just a Normal, Quirky 17-Year-Old.”
It’s been a few days since Jordin Sparks beat Blake Lewis to win season six of ‘American Idol’ and the media blitz that has followed her every move has yet to subside. For Sparks, the youngest ‘Idol’ to ever be crowned, the attention is somewhat mystifying. During a teleconference in which she answered questions and offered her opinions on a range of topics Sparks said “I’m just a normal, quirky 17-year-old.”
Asked about her thoughts surrounding the entertainment industry’s obsession with weight, particularly for women Spark’s said “Oh, that super-thin stuff - Hollywood needs to get over it.”
Sparks will be hitting up the television circuit in LA and New York for the next week before returning to her home in Arizona for some much needed rest. Sparks will be joining several of her ‘American Idol’ pals later for the ‘America Idol’ tour.
