New England Patriots defensive end Marquise Hill is reportedly missing after a jet ski accident in the waters of Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana on Sunday.
Hill, 24, and a young woman, were both on jet skis around 9:30 p.m. but shortly after there were screams for help from the water. When the US Coast Guard arrived they found the woman clinging to a pylon. They then spotted Hill but lost contact with him when they wee positioning their boat to retrieve him.
Tom Atkeson of the Coast Guard said “They're still searching and we will continue searching until we find Mr. Hill.”
In a statement released by the New England Patriots team chairman and CEO Robert Kraft said “We are all shocked, we can only hope and pray that the search and rescue is successful. Our thoughts and prayers are with Marquise and his family. We know that Marquise is a strong young man and will remain optimistic while continuing to pray for his rescue.”
