Elisabeth Hasselbeck is apparently trying to repair her relationship with her former “The View” co-host Rosie O’Donnell. Hasselbeck has said that she has reached out to Rosie and the two were “in communication a lot,” but wouldn’t elaborate on the nature of their conversations.
Just last week the two opposites butted heads in a heated argument surrounding comments Rosie made about the U.S. involvement in Iraq. O’Donnell had taken a beating in the media when she supposedly equated American soldiers with terrorists. Because Elisabeth remained silent when questioned by reporters Rosie said Hasselbeck acted “cowardly” rather than defend her friend.
That set off an argument that has been broadcast over and over and made its rounds on several talk shows and media outlets. Hasselbeck in turn called O’Donnell a “coward” for asking rhetorical questions.
Rosie, who was scheduled to leave “The View” in June after her one-year contract expired, asked ABC to release her from the remainder of her contract and they obliged.
On Monday’s show Hasselbeck said the two had dealt with “the power of forgiveness” which helped pave the way for them “to move in a positive way.” Rosie had said that she believed the two would likely never speak again.
