LeBron James scored 25 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and handed out 11 assists, Daniel Gibson added 21 points and Drew Gooden finished with 19 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Detroit Pistons 91-87 in game four of their Eastern Conference Finals to even the series at 2-2.
The Cavaliers carried a seven point advantage into the third quarter but they struggled throughout the period hitting just four field-goals and scoring 15 points as the Pistons took a 67-65 lead heading into the fourth.
Detroit bumped their lead to four early in the fourth but Cleveland used a 12-2 run to take an 83-77 lead with 5:22 left in the game. LeBron pushed the lead to eight after hitting a 21-footer but the Pistons fought their way back and Richard Hamilton brought Detroit to within three with a jumper with just over a minute left.
After Rasheed Wallace blocked a Drew Gooden shot the Pistons had a chance to tie the score but Chauncey Billups missed a three-pointer and LeBron grabbed the rebound with 42 seconds left in the game. LeBron then missed a three-pointer but Eric Snow grabbed the offensive rebound and was fouled by Richard Hamilton. Snow hit one of two from the line to give Cleveland a four point lead. Antonio McDyess tipped in his own miss to cut the Cavs lead to two but LeBron then sank two from the line to seal the game with four seconds on the clock.
The series will now shift back to Detroit where both teams will meet again on Thursday for game five of their best of seven series.
