Promises, Promises, Lohan Pulls a Britney and Checks Back into Rehab
Perhaps only Britney Spears could understand what Lindsay Lohan is currently going through. After an awful week that included wrecking her Mercedes, getting arrested for suspicion of DUI, having drugs found in her car and an unflattering photo showing the 20-year-old apparently passed out in a friend’s car Lindsay Lohan is back in rehab.
Lohan was arrested at the Century City Hospital on Saturday morning after the car she was driving jumped a curb on Sunset Boulevard and struck a tree. Before police arrived on the scene both Lohan and the car were gone but investigators found the car at an apartment complex and then found Lindsay at the hospital where they charged her with suspicion of driving under the influence.
The “Georgia Rule” star is also looking at possible drug charges and leaving the scene of an accident. According to her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, Lohan “admitted herself to an intensive medical rehabilitation facility.” Zelnick added “Because this is a medical matter, it is our hope that the press will appreciate the seriousness of the situation and respect the privacy of Lindsay as well as the other patients receiving treatment at the facility.”
Lohan is now at Promises, the same treatment center that Britney Spears checked into after bailing on rehab twice and the famous head shaving incident.
It’s been five months since Lohan entered the Wonderland rehab clinic to overcome her substance abuse problems. After a month at the treatment facility Lohan checked out and continued to enjoy the nightlife while supposedly refraining from the drink and drugs.
A preliminary court date has been set for Aug. 24 for the charges stemming from this past weekend but Lohan will not have to appear.
