The Bon Ton Stores Inc (NASDAQ:BONT) Announces Retirement of Therese Callahan

The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ:BONT) has announced that its Senior Vice President, General Merchandising Manger, Center Core and Children’s, Therese Callahan, will be retiring on February 5, 2010.  Ms. Callahan first joined Bon-Ton in October 2006.  She has devoted over 40 years in the retail industry with the company.

Succeeding Ms. Callahan will be Joyce Armeli.  Ms. Armeli began working for the company in 1977 as a trainee.  Since then, she has held senior merchandise management assignments, and a variety of divisional merchandise manager, buyer and assistant buyer positions.  Ms. Armeli will report to Bon Ton Vice Chairman, President – Merchandising, Tony Buccina.

 

The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. is a regional department store operator in the United States, offering an assortment of brand-name fashion apparel and accessories for women, men and children, as well as cosmetics, home furnishings and other goods. As of January 31, 2009, the Company operated 280 stores in mid-size and metropolitan markets in 23 Northeastern, Midwestern and upper Great Plains states under the Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers nameplates and, under the Parisian nameplate, stores in the Detroit, Michigan area, consisting a total of approximately 26 million square feet.
