San Antonio dominated from the start and used a 14-0 run in the first quarter to build a 30-11 lead and take a 34-15 advantage into the second quarter. The Spurs then used back-to-back three-pointers from Michael Finley and Manu Ginobili to push their lead to 40-17 and the Jazz had no chance to climb back.
The Spurs put the game away in the third quarter as Tim Duncan scored ten points and Fabricio Oberto added nine as San Antonio outscored Utah 28-17 and carried an 83-56 lead into the fourth.
San Antonio sat all their starters in the fourth quarter as Brent Barry scored nine points and Jacque Vaughn added six in the period.
Utah could never get anything going as Carlos Boozer struggled from the field scoring just 9 points on 3-10 shooting and as a team the Jazz hit just 38 percent from the floor. San Antonio managed to drop 51 percent of their shots and committed just seven turnovers.
The Spurs now await the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Detroit Pistons and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
