Samuel Pahlsson scored eight goals for the Anaheim Ducks during the regular season and heading into game two of the Stanley Cup finals against the Ottawa Senators he had found the back of the net twice in their playoff run but on Wednesday night he lit the lamp for the third time and provided the only goal of the game as the Ducks beat the Senators 1-0 and now have a 2-0 lead in their best of seven series.
Phalsson capitalized off a Dany Heatley turnover by taking the puck down the right-wing boards. He got around Daniel Alfredsson and sent a shot past goalie Ray Emery for the winner with 5:44 left on the clock.
Both goalies were sensational as Emery stopped 30-31 for the Senators and Jean-Sebastien Giguere stoned all 16 shots he faced for his sixth career postseason shutout.
The series now shifts to Ottawa where the two teams will meet on Saturday for game three of their best of seven series.
