A Harry Potter theme park is opening up in Orlando, Florida. The Universal Orlando Resort’s new theme park will enable fans to visit many of the places described in the books and seen in the movies.
Fans will be able to visit places like Rowling’s magical world, Dumbledore’s office at Hogwarts and shops in Hogsmeade. In 2009 places like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the Forbidden Forest will debut at Universal’s Island of Adventure theme park.
Author J.K. Rowling is working with a team of designers to help create the park to look like her work.
"The plans I've seen look incredibly exciting, and I don't think fans of the books or films will be disappointed," J.K. Rowling said.
The production designer of the movies, Stuart Craig, is the head of a team of artist who is working to make sure every detail is perfect.
"We're really going to the people who know this world best to ensure that level of authenticity," said Scott Trowbridge of the Universal resorts.
The actors in the Harry Potter movie will be visiting the park often because there will be no character look-a-likes. "This is Harry's world," Trowbridge said. "Most every fan wants to have an encounter with the star of the show."
"Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" will be released in theaters July 11. The last book in the Harry Potter series will be available in stores on July 21.
