Tim Cox, founder of GOOOH, will visit Raleigh, North Carolina on Saturday, February 20th, to announce a petition drive. 86,000 confirmed signatures will be needed from across the state to give GOOOH status as an official party in North Carolina. GOOOH candidates will appear on the ballot in the fall election.
Get Out of Our House, or GOOOH (pronounced “Go”), is a non-partisan movement whose aim is to eliminate special interest and two-party influence on members of Congress. The group’s goal is to replace all 435 members of the House of Representatives. Cox’s book, Revolution: A New Way to Select Representatives, outlines the process. GOOOH candidates make their positions on 100 issues known, and pledge to serve no more than two terms in the Congress. Issues are determined within each district, and a national media campaign, funded by member contributions, will offer voters a choice between the “professional politician” and the citizen legislator envisioned by our Founding Fathers.
The GOOOH movement, launched during the Bush administration, has been gaining ground, and is receiving support from popular radio personalities, including Lou Dobbs and Neal Boortz. Cox has appeared in television interviews on WGN Chicago Midday News and the Fox & Friends Sunday morning show. The www.GOOOH.com website has been flooded with visitors, now approaching the 900,000 mark, and expected to reach one million shortly. After Tim’s December 20th interview on Fox and Friends, over 11,000 viewers became GOOOH members.
The GOOOH rally will be held at the Raleigh Civic & Convention Center, 500 South Salisbury Street at 6:30 pm. Cox will conduct a second rally in High Point, North Carolina the following evening and has invited patriots from Greensboro and Winston-Salem to attend.
Tim Cox will be conducting radio interviews by phone the week prior to the event and live interviews from the venue on the day of the event. For media arrangements, contact Don Rosenberg, 704-910-6498, donrosenberg@gmail.com.
